Men's Basketball lands six Academic All-OAC honorees

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team had six players named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference for 2015-16 in voting done by the leagues academic advisors.

Junior Joey Hurless and sophomores Jack Ellerhorst, Joey DiOrio, Alex Sibila, Grant Pepper, and Max Harnett all received the honor.

Hurless is a pharmaceutical business major and earns his second Academic All-OAC accolade.

This season he started all 26 games for the Polar Bears, averaging an NCAA leading 7.5 apg and a team-leading 1.3 spg.

Ellerhorst earns his first Academic All-OAC accolade after appearing in 13 games for ONU.

The accounting major averaged 2.1 ppg and 1.7 rpg last season for the Polar Bears.

DiOrio, a mechanical engineering major, earns his first Academic All-OAC honor.

The sophomore appeared in 26 games, averaging 4.8 ppg, with 29 three-pointers on the season.

Sibila appeared in eight games for Northern, earning his first Academic All-OAC accolade.

The electrical engineering major averaged 1.3 ppg and .8 rpg last season for Northern.

Pepper earns his first Academic All-OAC honor.

The journalism major appeared in 12 games, grabbing 1.3 rpg for the Polar Bears.

Harnett is a mechanical engineering major who also earns his first Academic All-OAC accolade.
