Men's Basketball starts exciting 2013-14 schedule with an exhibition game Nov. 8 at Kent State

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's basketball team will face an exciting schedule in 2013-14 under second-year head coach Kevin Byrne.

The Polar Bears will open their campaign Nov. 8 with an exhibition contest at NCAA Division I foe Kent State.

Northern will then play Buffalo State (N.Y.) and Johnson & Wales (R.I.) at the Buffalo State Classic Nov. 22-23 to kick off the regular season.

A road tilt at Defiance and a home game with Bethany (W.Va.) will precede the Ohio Athletic Conference opener against Baldwin Wallace on Dec. 4 at the ONU Sports Center.

The Christmas Break schedule will be a cross-country adventure with road games at Los Angeles-area schools on the slate. ONU will face Cal Tech on Dec. 29 and a will have New Year's Eve contest at Chapman (Calif.) on the trip.

A home game with Trine (Ind.) will cap the non-conference schedule and ONU will get into the meat of its double round-robin OAC schedule Jan. 8 at home against Marietta.

The OAC Tournament will run from Feb. 24-Mar. 1.

The Polar Bears posted a 13-14 overall record and finished seventh in the OAC regular season standings with an 8-10 mark in 2012-13.
