Former standout Jake Heaphy named Recruiting Assistant for Ohio Northern football program

ADA — Former Ohio Northern standout Jake Heaphy has been named Recruiting Assistant for the Polar Bear football program.

Heaphy will assist with all aspects of recruiting potential student/athletes for the ONU football team.

"This is a great addition to our program," ONU head coach Dean Paul said. "Jake is a terrific young men and will help us a great deal in identifying, evaluating and recruiting potential student/athletes."

Heaphy was a four-year letterman as a kicker and punter for Ohio Northern from 2006-09 and served as an assistant coach in 2010.

He was a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree, earning the honor both as a punter and as a kicker.

He is ONU's all-time career leader with 26 field goals and ranks second with 168 career points.

Heaphy is also seventh all-time at ONU wioth a 37.08 career punting average.

A Dublin, Ohio, native, Heaphy graduated with a bachelor's degree in technology from Ohio Northern in 2010.
