    GREENCASTLE, Ind. --  Sophomore Sam Bastian scored a team-high 12 points off the bench, but it was not enough as DePauw (Ind.) topped Ohio Northern 73-64 in the championship game of the DePauw Invitational Sunday afternoon at Neal Fieldhouse.

    The Polar Bears fall to 3-1, while the Tigers improve to 2-2.

    Bastian and junior Kyle Meyer were named to the All-Tournament Team for ONU.

    GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Sophomore Sam Bastian led four Ohio Northern players in double figures with a career-high 16 points as the Polar Bears defeated Defiance 70-67 in the first round of the DePauw (Ind.) Invitational Saturday night at Neal Fieldhouse.

    Ohio Northern (3-0) advances to the Championship game Sunday at 4 pm against tournament host DePauw, who defeated Earlham (Ind.) 92-57 in the first semifinal game on Saturday.

    ADA - Freshman Kara Dysert hit a jumper with 5:20 remaining in the game to give the Ohio Northern women's basketball team a 40-37 lead, but Wittenberg ended on a 15-4 run to defeat the Polar Bears 52-44 Tuesday night at the ONU Sports Center.

    Wittenberg remains undefeated at 3-0 on the season, while the Polar Bears drop to 1-2.

    ADA — The Ohio Northern volleyball team finished the 2008 season ranked No. 4 nationally in the final Bison/AVCA Division III Coaches Top 25 Poll.

    The Polar Bears finished the season with a 34-5 record after advancing to the NCAA III Tournament's Final Four in Blomington, Ill.

    Northern also won its ninth consecutive OAC regular season title and its third straight OAC Tournament crown.
