Ryan New named head Cross Country and Track & Field coach

ADA - Ryan New has been named head coach for both the Cross Country and Track & Field programs at Ohio Northern.

New comes to Northern after spending the past three years as an assistant coach at Centre (Ky.) and running for the program from 2001-2004.

The 2004 graduate earned his dual degree in classical studies and history from Centre.

New was a sprinter for the Colonels, competing in the 100-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter dashes as well as the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays.

Feast or Famine for ONU on Day 1 of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships

It was feast or famine for the members of the Ohio Northern track & field competing on Day 1 of the 2008 NCAA Track & Field Outdoor Championships on the campus of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Junior Jimmy O'Brien won his heat of the 1,500-meter run while junior Dani Noe was disqualified in her heat of the 400-meter hurdles and senior Ryan Robertson fouled on all three of his attempts in the long jump.

ADA - Ohio Northern senior Ryan Robertson (Pickerington/Central) and juniors Jimmy O'Brien (Pemberville/Eastwood) and Dani Noe (Woodville/Woodmore) have all earned a bid to compete at the NCAA Track & Field Championships on May 22-24 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Noe runs career-best in 400 hurdles at the Gregory Invitational

NAPERVILLE, ILL. - Ohio Northern junior Dani Noe ran a career-best 1:03.07 in the 400-meter hurdles at the Gregory Invitational hosted by North Central (Ill.).

For the second consecutive week, Noe finished third in the event and improved her position for next week's NCAA Championships.

Sophomore Janelle Jansen also turned in a season-best performance in the pole vault. She cleared 10-7 to finish ninth in the event. Jansen also placed 13th in both the long jump and the triple jump with marks of 15-9.5 and 33-1, respectively.

Six Lady Polar Bear runners named to Academic All-OAC teams

ADA - Six Ohio Northern cross country and track & field female athletes received Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors Thursday in voting conducted by the conference's ten faculty representatives.
