Hess sets personal best in the mile at Findlay Open

FINDLAY — Junior Susen Hess turned in her personal best time in the mile as members of the Ohio Northern women's track & field team competed at the unscored Findlay Open, Friday evening.

Hess crossed the line in a time of 5:46.92 to finish tenth. Freshman Maria Tordella also ran the mile in finished 13th in 6:10.74.

In the 3,000-meter run, junior Erica Rumschlag led three Polar Bears with a tenth place finish in 11:52.48. Freshman Aimee Baehrens followed in 13th at 12:11.82 and teammate Tabitha Moddy was 15th at 12:44.10.

Freshman Tiffany Lerch was the only other member of the women's team to compete Friday night as she took 15th in the shot put with a toss of 34-4.25.

The rest of the Polar Bears will be in action Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Otterbein. The action will get underway at 10 am.
