Women's Tennis to open 2008-09 fall season at Oberlin
ADA — The Ohio Northern women’s tennis team will open the fall portion of its 2008-2009 season on the road at the Oberlin Invitational under the guidance of 8th year head coach Scott Wills.
The invitational will provide the Polar Bears with some of the toughest competition in the country with three of the teams ranked in the top ten and six ranked in the top 25.
On Sept. 23, ONU will host its 7th annual Adidas Challenge which will consist of a doubleheader against local rivals Northwestern Ohio and Bluffton.
Four Polar Bears named All-OAC in women's tennis for 2008
Four Ohio Northern players were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in women's tennis for 2008 in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.
Senior Ashley Yontz (Springfield/Shawnee) and freshman Jacqueline Sammon (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic) were Second Team honorees and sophomore Katie Gibbs (Hartville/North Canton Hoover) and freshman Liz Bajusz (North Royalton) were on the Honorable Mention All-OAC squad.
Ashley Yontz named 2nd Team Academic All-District IV At-Large

ADA — Senior Ashley Yontz (Springfield/Shawnee) was named Second Team ESPN the Magazine At-Large Academic All-District IV as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Yontz also earned Academic All-OAC honors for the third straight season and First Team honors for the second consecutive year as a member of the women’s tennis team.
