Peggy Ewald to serve on Team USA Swim Team coaching staff at Paralympic Games in Beijing, China

ADA — Ohio Northern head swimming and diving coach Peggy Ewald will travel to Beijing, China, for the Paralympic Games Sept. 6-17 as a member of the US Paralympic Swimming Team coaching staff.

She has been a part of the Team USA Paralympic coaching staff since 2007 and has been the ONU swimming and diving coach since 2005, winning five OAC team titles, including four men’s crowns in succession.

Four swimmers named Academic All-Conference

ADA — Four menbers of the Ohio Northern women's swimmers and diving team earned At-Large All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors as voted upon by the league’s ten faculty representatives.

Sophomore Terri Lynn Shigle (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) earned First Team honors and sophomores Jillian Huber (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf), Katherine Moore (Chicago, Ill./Marian Catholic) and Lacey Shumate (Bucyrus/Colonel Crawford) each earned Honorable mention honors.

AKRON — The Ohio Northern women’s swimming and diving team finished second at the 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Thursday-Saturday at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.

AKRON — The Ohio Northern women’s swimming and diving continued to swim fast on Day 2 of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship at the University of Akron.

Freshman Hannah Bukowy won the 100 breast in a new OAC-record time of 1:07.18. That mark also qualified her for the NCAA Championships.
