Oswald, Fennell and Shigle all win as ONU competes against Wooster |

Nov. 3, 2007 By Joanna West ADA The Ohio Northern women’s swimming and diving team fell to North Coast Athletic Conference foe Wooster 176.5-119.5 at ONU Sports Center Natatorium on Saturday. The Lady Polar Bears fell to 2-2, while the Scots improve to 2-1. Northern was led by Sara Oswald, Cassandra Fennell, and Terri Lynn Shigle with first place finishes. Oswald won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:46.56, Fennell finished the 100 backstroke in 1:04.66, and Shigle took top honors in the 1m diving with a score of 213.60. Also pacing the Lady Bears were Kim Randall and Katie Moore, going 2-3 in the 200 free and Hannah Bukowy and Janelle Cain finishing 2-3 in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Moore was second in the 100 free in 56.08 while Jillian Huber was second in the 200 back with a time of 2:21.23. Fennel, Bukowy, and Randall teamed up with Luisa Chinchilla to finish second in the 400 medley relay while the relay team of Fennel, Randall, Huber, and Moore finished second in the 400 free relay. The Lady Polar Bears will return to action as they travel to Hillsdale, (Mich) on November 10. |
