Amanda Lovell leads Ohio Northern past Notre Dame (Ohio) 122-82

SOUTH EUCLID — The Ohio Northern women’s swimming and diving teams defeated Notre Dame (Ohio) in the first of two meets on Saturday morning 122-82.

The Polar Bears improve to 4-4, while the Falcons fall to 3-8.

Several ONU swimmers scored first place finishes.

Leading the pack was Amanda Lovell in the 1000 free with a time of 11:46.07.

Jillian Huber was first in the 100 back in 1:07.03, Kim Randall placed first in the 500 free in 5:33.81 and Hannah Bukowy touched first in 1:11.88.

Several other Polar Bears also scored to helped seal the victory.

Lacey Shumate was second in the 200 IM in 2:25.41, Renee Campbell finished second in the 100 free in 59.19 and Kathryn Heagle was third with a time of 1:00.22.

ONU also won both relays. Bukowy and Randall teamed with Cassie Fennell and Katie Moore to win the 200 medley relay in 1:57.09.

Randall and Moore then joined Shumate and Heagle to finish first in the 200 free relay in 1:48.35.

The Polar Bears will now travel to Alliance to battle Ohio Athletic Conference foe Mount Union at 1 pm on Saturday.

ONU and MUC are tied for first place in the OAC as the lone remaining unbeatens teams in the league with a share of the OAC regular season championship going to the winner.
