Hillsdale (Mich.) nips Ohio Northern women’s swimming & diving 128-99

HILLSDALE, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women’s swimming and diving team fell 128-99 to Hillsdale (Mich.) in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon.

The loss drops the Polar Bears to 2-3 on the season.

Sophomore Katherine Moore led the Bears with a win in the 50-yard freestyle and a second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. Moore won the 50-free in 25.78, just .07 seconds ahead of Anne Verhoef of Hillsdale.

Terri Lynn Shigle won the 1-meter diving and teammate Jenna Schaffner won the 3-meter dive.

Sophomore Sara Oswald picked up a victory in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:44.38.

Freshman Hannah Bukowy and sophomore Kim Randall each took second place finishes for ONU.

Bukowy finished the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:37.68 and Randall took second in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:18.86.

The Polar Bears will return to action next Friday when they travel to Wittenberg for a dual match at 6 pm.
