Terri Lynn Shigle leads Ohio Northern past Case Western Reserve 121-118 on Senior Night

ADA — Ohio Northern swimming and diving teams split a dual meet on Friday night against Case Western Reserive on Senior night at the ONU Sports Center.

Ohio Northern also held its annual Swim for Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser during the meet.

The Polar Bear women won 121-118 over the Spartans while CWR topped the ONU men 129-94.

Leading the way for the women was diver Terri Lymm Shigle, who won both the 1-meter diving with 227. 50 points and 3-meter diving with 172.50 points.

Kim Randall was first in the 200 free finishing in 2:01.78.

In the 50 free, Katie Moore won in 26.00 and Hannah Bukowy was third in 26.71.

Jillian Huber was first in the 200 IM in 2:20.12.

Cassie Fennel also took first in the 100 back, winning in 1:04.58.

Diver Jenna Schaffner also posted points for the Polar Bears, finishing second in the 1-meter diving with 165.90 points and finishing third in the 3-meter with 148.1 points.

Brittany Spengler was third in the 1-meter diving with 161.30 points and second in the 3-meter with 164.55 points, giving the Polar Bears a 1-2-3 finish in each diving event

Randall was second in the 100 free in :56.43 and Huber was third in 57.71.

Bukowy was second in the 100 breast in 1:09.15.

Bukowy, Moore, and Randall teamed up with Cassie Fennel to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:53.58.

The women are now 6-4 overall and 3-0 in the OAC.

They return to action Saturday at 1 pm against OAC rival Baldwin-Wallace at the B-W Natatorium in Lou Higgins Center in Berea in the squad’s regular season finale.
