Kaitlin Sanders named First Team Academic All-America, Academic All-OAC in Women's Soccer

ADA - Junior midfielder Kaitlin Sanders (Kendallville, Ind./East Noble) has been selected ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA First Team Academic All-America in Women’s Soccer for 2008 in voting conducted by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

She was also named First Team Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-District IV this year.

As a sophomore in 2007, Sanders was named Third Team Acdemic All-District as well as First Team Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference.

Women's Soccer has four First Team, five total All-OAC selections

ADA — The Ohio Northern women’s soccer team had four players named First Team All-OAC and five total players earn conference recognition.

Seniors Katie Schaadt, Kristin Reininger and Erin Stapp and junior Kaitlin Sanders were all selected First Team All-OAC.

Schaadt was also awarded OAC Defender of the Year, while Sanders was named OAC Midfielder of the Year.

Schaadt earned All-OAC honors all four years of her career, as she was named Second Team as a freshman and First Team in her final three seasons.

WESTERVILLE — No. 16-ranked Ottrbein scored in the 20th and 60th minutes to defeat Ohio Northern 2-0 in the finals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament Saturday afternoon at Clements Field.

The second-seeded Polar Bears fall to 14-6-1, while the OAC Regular Season champion and top-seeded Cardinals improve to 16-1-2.
