Wittenberg downs ONU women's soccer 1-0

SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg’s Amanda Farrell headed a loose ball past senior goalkeeper Barbie Krieger in the 74th minute to score the game’s only goal and lead the Tigers past Ohio Northern’s Women Soccer 1-0.

With the loss ONU falls to 3-4-1 and Wittenberg improves to 8-2 on the season.

Krieger had a season-high 11 saves. Wittenberg’s defense proved to be too much, however, allowing only one shot on goal.

Wittenberg goalkeeper, Meghan O’Rourke, had one save as the Bishiops recorded their eighth shutout of the season including their fourth-in-a-row.

The Tigers outshot ONU 20-3 and had a 10-0 advantage on corner kicks.

The Polar Bears will travel to University Heights to play their first OAC match of the season against John Carroll at 7 p.m.
