Rachel Smith named OAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

ADA — Junior Rachel Smith (Bellevue) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for her effort in Ohio Northern third place finish at the All-Ohio Championships meet on Friday at Ohio Wesleyan.
Smith finished seventh out of 126 runners in 19:38.
She was the only OAC runner to finish in the top 10 and helped Ohio Northern post the highest finish among OAC schools.

DELAWARE — The Ohio Northern women’s cross country team took third of 19 teams on the 5,000-meter course at the All-Ohio Championship on Friday at the Delawarer Golf Course.
The Polar Bears (57-21) were led by junior Rachel Smith who finished in seventh place in a time of 19:38.0.
Freshman Mallory Bloom took 21st in a time of 20:12.4 and senior Regina Bresson came in 26th in a time of 20:28.1.

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Ohio Northen women’s cross country (41-19) finished in second out of 7 teams at the 5,000-meter course at the Earlham Inv. this Saturday.
Sophomore Amanda Binkey and freshman Ashley Baumer both finished in the top fifteen. Binkey finished 11th in 20:31 and Baumer finished 13th in 20:39.
To finish the scoring, Northern’s next three runners placed 16th, 17th and 18th.
