By Tim Glon ALLIANCE — The No. 14-ranked Ohio Northern volleyball team opened its 2007 Ohio Athletic Conference schedule with a thrilling 30-19, 27-30, 23-30, 30-24, 15-11 victory at Mount Union Wednesday evening at the Timken P.E. Center. The Polar Bears (10-4 overall, 1-0 OAC) extended their win streak to six games. The Purple Raiders fall to 12-2, 0-1. Liz Schnelle had 16 kills, Melissa Goodman added 12 kills, Katie Weininger had 11 kills and Laura Vuyk had 10 kills for ONU. Weininger had 46 assists and Amanda Fought had 34 digs and three aces for the Polar Bears. Sara Parker had 19 kills and Amanda Kohler added 16 kills for Mount Union. Ohio Northern will return to action on Tuesday at area-rival Defiance in a 7 pm contest. |
