ATHLETIC TRAINERS & COACHES ATTENDING

 

We would like to welcome you to Ada, O hio, home of the Ohio Northern Polar Bears.  The following accommodations will be available to you when your team arrives at Ohio Northern University for the for the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 14 & 15, 2008. 

 

 

  • The athletic training room is located in the ONU Sports Center on the first floor, near the locker rooms and adjacent to the Indoor Track. 

 

  • The athletic training facility hours for the championships will be as follows:

 

Wednesday, March 12                      3:00 PM – 10:45 PM

Thursday, March 13                          7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Friday, March 14                                9:30 AM – 8:30 PM

Saturday, March 15                            7:00 AM – 6:45 PM

 

  • A certified athletic trainer(s) will be present in the athletic training room and a physician will be on call during the practice dates noted in black.  Certified athletic trainers and physicians will be present during competition dates noted in blue.

 

  • IMPORTANT:  If it is your institutions intention to send a team physician, certified athletic trainer, or athletic training student; then you MUST contact Kurt Wilson, prior to the week of the championships in order to receive a valid credential for the weekend.

  • Therapeutic modalities will be available for use in the athletic training room by a certified athletic trainer.  If an ATC or PHYSCIAN will NOT be traveling with your team, we REQUIRE that your athlete or athletic training student bring a letter from an ATC or physician including any modalities requested and the name of the athlete requiring the modality.  WE WILL NOT BE CONTACTING THE ATC’s  TO REQUEST MODALITY PROTOCOLS!    If your team does not have a certified athletic trainer or athletic training student, our athletic training staff will assist you if the athlete is present with the modality request.

 

 

 

 

  • Ohio Northern University will provide the following items:  water, ice, ice bags, and emergency equipment.  We request that each team provide its own taping supplies, water bottles and towels.

 

  • IF the need should arise for your athlete to receive emergency medical care, Lima Memorial Hospital ER is located approximately 15 miles from campus in Lima, Ohio.

·         Turn RIGHT onto OH-235/OH-309 W.  Continue to follow OH-309 W.

 

·         Remain in the far RIGHT land and veer RIGHT onto HARDING HWY/OH-117 W.  Continue to follow OH-117 W.

 

·         End at 1001 BELLEFONTAINE AVE, Lima, OH.  LMH ER entrance to the RIGHT.
