Marie Borner
Bethel
Sophomore Marie Borner from Bethel University (Mn) pulled away with the women’s title in the 1-mile run, crossing the line in an ONU fieldhouse record of 4:58.36. Borner had the fourth fastest seed time going into the finals.

Junior Ayla Mitchell from Wisconsin Oshkosh and senior Catherine Beck from Tufts University join Borner with All-American status. Mitchell and Beck finished in 4:58.61 and 4:59.72, respectively.

“It could have been anyone’s race, going into it we were all so close. I just wanted to sit back and relax for the first 800 and I wanted to really pick it up that last 400. I don’t know what it feels like yet to be a national champion, I just wanted to do my best -- Marie Borner, Bethel
Also earning All-American honors were Annick Lamar, a senior from Haverford College, Katy O’Brien, a senior from Tufts University and Jennifer KuiKen, a sophomore from Wartburg College.

Rounding out the All-Americans are junior Stephanie Herrick from the College of New Jersey and senior Erin Kelley from Carroll College.
