The men’s 55-meter dash had all the makings to be one of the most exciting events of the day at the NCAA III Indoor Track & Field National Championships at the ONU Sportscenter.

Featuring four All-American’s including 2007 National Champion and two-time All-American senior Eddie Bynum III of Salem State College. Bynum set the DIII season best time with 6.25, beating his qualifying time and his time at last years championships.

“I made sure not to put any pressure on myself to repeat as champion. Winning again and leaving as a two-time champion hasn’t sunk in yet, hopefully it will eventually. This is just so cool.” -- Eddie Bynum III, Salem State
2007 All-American senior Amaan Siddeeq of Cortland SUNY finished second (6.26), and Oneonta SUNY junior Joe Reed took third to finish out the top three (6.30).

The rest of the top eight finishers were Salisbury University sophomore Delannie Spriggs at fourth (6.35) and soophomore Stephen Headley of Springfield College took fifth (6.36)

Illinois Wesleyan senior Segun Olopo took sixth (6.37), senior Tazz Petty of Methodist took seventh (6.40) and 2007 All-American junior Josh Hurlebaus of Carroll College (Wis) took eighth (6.41).
