Micah Scott named OAC Player of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Micah Scott (Reynoldsburg) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 17-23.

He posted a 4-0 record on the week, going 2-0 at #1 singles and #1 doubles, to lead the Polar Bears to victories over John Carroll and Marietta.

It marks the first time this season and the fourth time in his career that he has won the honor.

On the season, Scott is 6-4 in singles, is 9-2 in doubles and is 15-6 overall.

In his four seasons at Ohio Northern, Scott is 53-24 in singles, is 61-18 in doubles and is 114-42 overall.

His 53 singles wins ranks him eighth all-time at ONU. He is fourth all-time with his 61 doubles wins and is sixth all-time with his 114 overall victories.

Scott is a three-time First Team All-OAC selection and was named the OAC Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2006.

He also was named the OAC Player of the Week twice in 2006 and once in 2007.

The Polar Bears return to action Tuesday at OAC foe Capital at 3:30 p.m.
