Polar Bears sweep Heidelberg to move to 6-0 in OAC

ADA — The Ohio Northern men’s tennis team recorderd their third shutout in four matches and remained undefeated in the Ohio Athletic Conference beating Heidelberg 9-0 Tuesday afternoon.

With the victory, Ohio Northern improves to 10-4 and 6-0 in the OAC, Heidelberg falls to 6-6, 2-3.

Seniors Micah Scott and Bart Schenck earned their team-leading 17th victory at No. 1 doubles 8-1.

Juniors Ryan Paul and Chris Dohner reached the 10-win mark at No. 2 doubles winnning 8-1.

Junior Jay Vaidya and senior Thomas Major completed the sweep at doubles winning 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

Scott, Schenck and Dohner all improved to 6-0 in the OAC.

Scott continued his hot streak at No. 1 singles winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 for his ninth victory in his last ten matches.

Schenck won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles and Dohner earned his 10th overall victory at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-1

Paul won at No. 3 singles to improve 5-0 in the OAC and earned his 10th victory of the season winning 6-2, 6-0.

Vaidya won at No. 5 singles in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

Senior Kyle Webb won at No. 6 singles 6-4, 6-4 for his 11th overall victory and improved to 5-0 in the OAC.

The Polar Bears return to action on Thursday at home against Tiffin at 3:30 pm.
