By Mike Seem BLUFFTON Seniors Micah Scott and Bart Schenck improved to 14-3 with an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles as the Ohio Northern men's tennis team won by shutout for the third time this season with a 9-0 win over Bluffton Monday at the Bluffton Tennis Courts. With the victory, Ohio Northern improves to 7-4, while Bluffton falls to 0-6. In other doubles action, junior Chris Dohner and freshman Jeff Carter won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles and junior Jay Vaidya and senior Thomas Major won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles. Scott earned his team-leading 10th singles victory winning 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot. Schenck and junior Kyle Webb each earned their eighth wins of the year. Schenck won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Webb won 6-1, 4-6, 10-8 at No. 4 singles. Dohner won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for his seventh win of the year, senior Todd Anderson won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles and freshman Kyle Barnaba concluded the scoring with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles. The Polar Bears return to action Wednesday at OAC foe Wilmington at 3:30 p.m. |
