Peggy Ewald to serve on Team USA Swim Team coaching staff at Paralympic Games in Beijing, China

ADA — Ohio Northern head swimming and diving coach Peggy Ewald will travel to Beijing, China, for the Paralympic Games Sept. 6-17 as a member of the US Paralympic Swimming Team coaching staff.

She has been a part of the Team USA Paralympic coaching staff since 2004 and has been the ONU swimming and diving coach since 2004, winning five OAC team titles, including four men’s crowns in succession.

Ewald was the head coach of Team USA at the ParaPanAm Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil in 2007.

Cummings, Immler, Paul named 1st Team Academic All-District IV

Six Ohio Northern male athletes earned At-Large Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors as voted upon by conference's ten faculty representatives.

Seniors Chase Cummings (Tulsa, Okla./Liberty-Benton), Wes Immler (Lorain/Amherst Steele) and juniors Ryan Paul (West Milton/Milton-Union) and Kyle Webb (Wapakoneta) earned First Team honors while junior David Penny (Union/Milton-Union) and Brett Kuhn (Tiffin/Columbian) garnered Honorable Mention honors.
