Smith also earned CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-District honors as voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. Along with his Academic All-District award, Smith was named First Team Academic All-OAC for first time in his career. He was also named First Team All-OAC each of the last two seasons and was named the OAC Co-Defender of the Year in 2006. Smith scored his first collegiate goal in a 6-1 win at Mount Union on Oct. 20. He also added two assists this season and was a key reason why the ONU defense recorded six shutouts on the year. Huffman also earned First Team Academic All-OAC honors for the first time and was also a First Team All-OAC honoree this season. He was very consistant in the midfield, scoring five goals and dishing out six assists. Huffman scored a goal and added two assists in an 8-0 win over Mt. St. Joseph. Huffman was a three-year starter and finished his career with 13 goals and 14 assists.Corrado earned Honorable Mention Academic All-OAC honors. The marketing major, played in all 22 games this season and scored his first three collegiate goals and also recorded his first three assists this season. He was one of the Polar Bears hardest workers in the middle of the field this season. ONU finished the season with a 14-6-2 overall record and a 5-2-2 mark in the OAC. Tenth-year head coach Brent Ridenour led the Bears to a return trip to the OAC Tournament and bowed out in the semifinals. |
