Corrado scores twice to lead Ohio Northern men’s soccer past Muskingum 4-0 |

Oct. 13, 2007 By Zach Stipe NEW CONCORD Sophomore Chris Corrado scored two goals and freshman keeper Ben Huntley recorded his second straight shutout to lead the Ohio Northern men’s soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Muskingum. ONU improves to 12-4 overall and 4-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while Muskingum drops to 4-10 overall and 0-5 in the OAC. Northern took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute of the match when senior Nick Farmwald scored from 12 yards out off a through ball from senior Zach Huffman. Not even two minutes into the second half the Polar Bears increased their lead. Sophomore Colin Schroeder took a shot that deflected off Corrado for a goal to make it 2-0. In the 54th minute, Corrado scored again. Schroeder drilled a shot that deflected off Muskingum keeper Matthew Seas right back to Corrado, who scored from six yards. Adam Ross completed the game’s scoring a little under four minutes later when he scored from 10 yards out off a through ball from Farmwald. Huntley made four saves, while notching his second straight shutout. He is 7-0 on the season. Seas made five saves for the Muskies, but gave up all four ONU goals. The Polar Bears a held a 16-13 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks. Ohio Northern returns to action this Tuesday when it faces Wilmington at 4 p.m. at the ONU Soccer Field in Ada. |
