By Gary Petit DELAWARE Freshman Joel Metzker fired matching rounds of 76 to pace the Ohio Northern men’s golf team at the Ohio Wesleyan Fall Invitational at Oak Haven Golf Course in Delaware. Metzker's 152 total finished him in a tie for 17th, the best finish of his young collegiate career. As a team, ONU carded rounds of 318-310628 on the 6,721-yard, Par 71 layout and finished in a tie for seventh. Senior Dan Brodnik carded a career-low 73 in the second round to go along with his 80 in for the first round. He finished with a 153 total and a tie for 22nd. Junior Andrew Rahrig also finished in a tie for 22nd with a 78-75153. Senior Wes Immler finished in a tie for 47th with rounds of 77-81158 while junior Ben Kretz carded two consistant rounds of 83-81164. Rounding out the Polar Bear top-five was junior Kevin Duffy with rounds of 86-84170 for a tie for 75th. Ohio Wesleyan's Jordan Benner, who was playing as an individual, fired rounds of 70-71 for 1-under par total of 141 to take medalist honors. OWU also won the team title with a 576 total. Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) and Washington and Jefferson (Pa.) tied for second with a 605 followed by Franklin (Pa.) in fourth at 610 and Denison in fifth at 612.
