OLIVET, Mich — The Ohio Northern wrestling team went 0-3 at Saturday’s Comet Duals in Olivet, Mich. The duals were hosted by Olivet College.

Ohio Northern junior David Penny got off to a quick start by defeating Brandon Music of Wisconsin-Lacrosse in a 4-1 decision. The Polar Bears were not able to capture another victory in the match and fell 41-3 to Wisconsin-Lacrosse.

Penny did not falter all day going a perfect 3-0 on the day by shutting out Blair Mellish of host Olivet 11-0 and beating Steve Austin of Mount Saint Joseph 6-2.

Josh Bordner recorded a win in the second round against Justin Jaynes of Olivet by a score of 7-4. Senior Adam Kosch recorded his first win of the day by pinning Jamie Llerena at the 4:26 mark, but the Polar Bears fell 32-13 to Olivet.

Ohio Northern faced Mount Saint Joseph in the final round of the day, losing 18-14. Freshman Luke Miller defeated Dave Harris 8-2, and senior Ben Plowman won 10-1 against Heath Lukacs. Kosch also recorded his second victory of the day beating Pat Thatcher 7-1.

ONU wrestling will host Wilmington in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener on Tuesday, Nov. 27 in the ONU Sports Center in Ada.
