    ADA — Ohio Northern freshman Nate Bascom was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 5.

    Bascom led the Polar Bears (10-2 overall, 1-0 OAC) to a pair of wins this week over Defiance and Muskingum.

    In the 9-0 win over Defiance, he scored his goal 2:59 into the match which stood to be the game-winning goal.

    In the OAC opener against Muskingum, Bascom scored goals in the 61st and 85th minutes. His first goal was the game-winner as well in the 3-1 win.

    SAINT LOUIS, Mo. — Senior Ryan Paul led the Ohio Northern men’s tennis team at the ITA Regional Tournament Sat.-Mon. at Washington (Mo.) University.

    Paul went 1-2 in singles play and combined with freshman Nick Kowalczyk to post a 2-2 record in doubles.

    WEST LAFAYETTE — No. 8-ranked Otterbein defeated the Ohio Northern women’s golf team 327-362 in a dual match Sunday afternoon at River Greens Country Club.

    Leading the way for the Polar Bears was sophomore Ashley Johnson, who carded a 43-42—85 for a fifth place finish.

    OC’s Kelly Butler shot an 80 on the day, leading the way for a 1-4 Otterbein finish.

    After a rough front nine, freshman Emily Gedert rebounded to shoot a 49-42—91 as the second Polar Bear finisher.

    ADA — Freshman Nate Bascom led the way for the Ohio Northern men’s soccer team with two goals as it opened Ohio Athletic Conference play Saturday by defeating Muskingum 3-1 at ONU Soccer Field.

    ONU moves to 10-2 overall and 1-0 in the OAC on the year, while the Muskies fall to 3-7 overall and 0-1 in the OAC.
