ADA — The Ohio Northern women’s golf team is ranked No. 14 in the final weekly GolfWorld/NGCA coaches’ poll and is No. 15 in the latest GolfStat Division III poll.

The Polar Bears finished the season with a 101-19 record and was the second-highest ranked team to not make the NCAA Tournament.

ONU jumped up four spots in the GolfWorld/NGCA poll and slipped one spot from 14 to 15 in the latest GolfStat poll.

The top-five are the same in each poll with Methodist (N.C.) occupying the top spot. The Monarch's have been ranked No. 1 all season and will be gunning for thier ninth consecutive NCAA Championship next week.

Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) is second in both polls followed by Saint Thomas (Minn.) in third, Southwestern (Tex.) in fourth and Wisconsin-Stevens Point in fifth.

Ohio Athletic Conference rival Otterbein is ranked No. 7 by GolfWorld/NGCA and No. 8 by GolfStat.

Ohio Northern senior Meagan Brennan received a bid to compete in the NCAA Championships as an individual. The Championships are being held at The Centennial Golf Club in Waverly, Iowa on May 13-16.

Brennan finished first a remarkable seven times this season and she currently has the second-lowest single season stroke average in school history at 82.4, trailing only her 81.9 from last season.

This year, Brennan has carded five rounds in the 70s and 11 of her 16 rounds have been under 84. She has also finished no worse than tied for 13th in any of her 13 tournaments, with 11 top-five finishes.
