Robertson, a four-time All-American in the long jump and 4x100 relay, was named the OAC men's Outdoor Track & Field Runner of the Week, marking the fourth consecutive week he has been named either the Men’s Runner or Field Athlete of the Week. He has now been named OAC Track Runner or Field Athlete of the Week a conference-record 13 times. On Saturday, he won four events to lead No. 4-ranked Ohio Northern to the Kenyon Invitational championship. Robertson won the 100-meter dash in :11.13, won the 200 dash in :22.35, won the long jump by jumping 22-1 3/4 and joined Justin Linzy, Ryan Fleming and Julian Horn to win the 4x100 relay in :42.08. Robertson was named the OAC Outdoor Runner of the Week on March 31 and was the Field Athlete of the Week on April 7 and 14. He has garnered six OAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors in his career, receiving the honor each of the past three seasons. He was also named the OAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week on Feb. 12, 2007 and was named the OAC Indoor Runner of the Week on four times in his career. The Polar Bears will travel to Wilmington Friday and Saturday for the 2008 OAC Championships. Brennan was named the OAC Women’s Golfer of the Week after leading the No. 16-ranked women’s golf team to an eighth place finish at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling over the weekend. She broke her own 18 and 36-hole scoring records and tied for first place at Illinois Wesleyan. She fired a 1-over par 73 on the first day and followed that up with a 78 on the second day to post a record 151 for the tournament. The Polar Bears finished eighth at the IWU tournament, which featured 11 teams that were either nationally-ranked or received votes in national polls last week. This marks the second time this season that Brennan has won the award, as she claimed the honor on March 31. This season, Brennan leads the Polar Bears in scoring with an 82.1 average. A three-time All-OAC performer and the defending OAC Champion, Brennan holds every ONU scoring record. Her career average of 84.85 for 62 rounds is nearly four shot better than any one in ONU women’s golf history. The Polar Bears will play host to the OAC Championships Saturday and Sunday at Colonial Golfers Club. |
