Brian Cole begins his tenth season as head coach of the Ohio Northern men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams.
Cole came to ONU in 1997 after five successful seasons as head cross country and track and field coach at Methodist (N.C.) College.
Cole is 768-461 in men’s cross country (13 years) and is 723-389 in women’s cross country (11 years).
At ONU, his men’s squads are 557-305 and his women’s teams are 693-307.
In track and field, Cole has guided the ONU men to records of 433-78 indoors and 308-187-3 outdoors and the women to records of 440-50 indoors and 379-117 outdoors.
He has coached a national champion, two national runners-up, 19 All-Americans, 59 Ohio Athletic Conference champions and 166 All-OAC performers at ONU.

He was the meet director for the 2002 and the 1999 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships at Ohio Northern.
He also served as the meet director for the 1999 and 2002 Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships, hosted by ONU.
Cole was named the Great Lakes Region Women’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year in 1998 at ONU.
At Methodist, he was named the Men’s Outdoor Region Coach of the Year in ’95 and ’96 and the Men’s Indoor Region Coach of the Year in ’97.
At ONU, he has coached 19 All-Americans, 67 OAC champions and 200 All-Conference performers.
In 13 years, he has coached 40 NCAA All-Americans, 118 Conference Champions and 571 All-Conference selections.
Cole and his wife, Christy, are proud parents of their 9-year old daughter, Alex.
The Tiffin, Ohio, native graduated from Methodist in 1991 with a degree in history.

Jason Maus enters his fourth year as the assistant coach for Distance & Mid-Distance. He also has taken on the responsibility of recruiting coordinator.
Maus comes to ONU from Heidelberg, where he was a three time Academic All-American in track and cross country.
Maus was a two-time OAC Champion in track and a two-time All-OAC performer in cross country.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Heidelberg in 2002 and his master’s degree from Bowling Green State University in 2005.
Maus coaches the distance runners and is the recruiting coordinator for the ONU cross country and track and field programs.
He and his wife, Lindsey, live in Ada.

Jacob Gleason enters his second year as the assistant coach for horizontal jumps and throws.
Gleason comes to ONU from Geneva College where he was the distance and jumps coach. During his tenure at Geneva, he produced 12 national qualifiers in the distance and jumps.
In just his first season at ONU, Gleason has overseen one All-America and several All Conference performances.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Westminster College in 2002 and his master’s degree from Geneva College in 2004.
He and his wife, Holly, live in Lima, Ohio.
