By Gary Petit GAMBIER The Ohio Northern men's tennis team opened the 2008 portion of its schedule by falling to No. 23 Kenyon at the Jasper Tennis Center Tuesday night. The loss evens the Polar Bears record at 1-1 while Kenyon remains undefeated at 5-0. ONU's lone win came at the No. 1 doubles where seniors Bart Schenck and Micah Scott defeated Robert Alef and William VanderBerg 8-5. Scott also played a solid match at the No. 1 singles, falling to Jeremy Polster in three sets. Scott won the opening set 7-6 but Polster responded to win the final two 6-2 and 6-3. The Lords dominated the rest of the singles action, winning each match in straight sets. Ohio Northern will return to action on its spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. The Bears will face Mount Saint Mary's (Md.) on Feb. 26 and Webber International on Feb. 27. |
