Jake Cannan named Academic

ADA — Ohio Northern junior post Jake Cannan (Dublin /Coffman) was named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in men’s basketball for the 2007-08 season in voting conducted by the league’s 10 faculty representatives.
Cannan led ONU in rebounding (8.1 rpg) and blocked shots (35) and was second in scoring at 13.0 ppg.
He had eight double-doubles in 2007-08 and was second on the team with a .541 field goal percentage.
He will enter his senior season ranked No. 1 on ONU’s all-time career field goal percentage list at .576 and ranked No. 8 on the blocked shots list with 58.
He was also named Honorable Mention All-OAC this season.
The Polar Bears also reached the OAC Tournament semifinals for the 12th time in the last 16 seasons.
Northern is now 55-25 under third-year head coach Jeff Coleman.
