BOWLING GREEN — The No. 11 Ohio Northern’s men’s cross country team finished third of 13 teams at the BGSU Falcon Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Kent State won with 32 points. Second place went to Lansing Community College with 67 points, Buffalo was fourth with 98 and Detroit was fifth with 168.
ONU also defeated Division I foes Wright State, Toledo, Bowling Green State and Niagara, Division II foes Siena Heights (Mich.) and Rio Grande and No. 27-ranked (Division III) Case Western Reserve.
Leading the men’s team (70-13) was Jimmy O’Brien, taking 11th place and tying his season-best at 25:40.
Sophmore Alan Bowsher ran his season-best time, finishing in 15th place in 25:50.
The strong ONU juniors finished off the Polar Bears top five. Eric Porter was 18th in 25:55, Paul Lewis was 22nd in 26:09, and Thomas Adam was 25th in 26:16.
The Polar Bears will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the OAC Championships at John Carroll.
