    ADA — Junior Rachel Smith (Bellevue) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for her effort in Ohio Northern third place finish at the All-Ohio Championships meet on Friday at Ohio Wesleyan.

    Smith finished seventh out of 126 runners in 19:38.

    She was the only OAC runner to finish in the top 10 and helped Ohio Northern post the highest finish among OAC schools.

    ADA — Sophomore running back Brent Donley (Southfield, Mich./West Bloomfield) and junior kicker Jake Heaphy (Dublin/Jerome) were named Ohio Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week for their efforts in Ohio Northern’s 41-0 victory at Heidelberg on Saturday.

    Donley was named the OAC Football Offensive Player of the Week after rushing 19 times for 102 yards and a career-high three touchdowns in his first career start.

    SPRINGFIELD — Emily Gedert fired a 4-over par 75 on the second day to lead the No. 18-ranked Ohio Northern women's golf team to a fourth place finish at the Wittenberg Fall Classic Saturday and Sunday at Windy Knoll Golf Course.

    The Polar Bears wrap up their fall schedule with a 32-8-1 record.

    Gedert finished tied for seventh out of 69 golfers with a 36-hole score of 160 on the par-71, 5800-yard course.
